Happy "Everything is Green" Day

Not sure who this guy Patrick is that everybody keeps talking about in the news today.
All I know is that they must really like him - they even gave him a parade last week. Mom and dad took me there and, man, this Patrick-dude must love bagpipers!
Mommy, me and one of the bagpipers.
They had hundreds of them in this march through town. And maybe he is a firefighter?
Mommy, me and a firetruck!
There were tons of firetrucks driving through town with the bagpipers....I think his daughter is a cheerleader or a tap dancer - all of here friends were in his parade, too. And he must be pretty smart, too, even has his own school in town!
His favorite color must be green and mommy must be one of his followers also as she was wearing a green sweater this morning.
Well, whoever he is, I like him - mom is making corned beef in his honor today, and I hope there are some leftovers for me!
She said "Kiss me, I'm Irish", so I did!
Cheers to you, Patrick!

Spring forward??!!

I am not so sure what´s the buzz about this whole "spring forward" thing today. Mommy said that from now until November we are saving daylight with time or something. She took all the clocks from the wall and changed something on them, even on the one that has the silly bird come out.
(Why is he hiding in there? Did he steal the daylight? I keep barking at him but the coward only comes out to scream in German once an hour. Around midday, though, if I bark really a lot, he comes out like 12 times!! Man, must I upset him.)

My cowardly friend Cuckoo and his girlfriend
And then breakfast was an hour early and everybody was ready to leave the house an hour early and I was still so tired and then lunch was also so early and I think that something is wrong with mommy. Why does she forget when normal eating hours are? What is she going to do with all the daylight time she is saving? Will it be daylight for all of next winter and no more nighttime?
Whatever, I just let her talk about saving time and I am not concerned about it being daylight more often. I do some of my best snoozing during daylight. I just fall backwards and, boom, asleep!

Mommy said to spring forward - I am better at fall backwards.

Two of me?!

So this package comes from grandma in Germany and I rip it open and think - I can''t even write here what I was thinking! This thing looks back at me and it looks like me!

Me and mini-Me.
It's like a mini-me - just clean and good smelling. It looks all cute and lovey dovey and it doesn't talk back and doesn't nip and you can put it in a crate and it doesn't start a rebellion. OMG, maybe mom will like it better than me!? So when mommy put mini-me next to me for a photo, I sat all still and looked all nice and pretty and it paid off! I got a treat and mini over there got nothing! Nada! See, mommy still likes me better. But I better be nice for a little while, just to be sure....
Love, Ellie.
P.S.: Are you kidding me? You cannot copy me! I am the one and only.

Staying warm

So Santa brought me this burrow bed and first I wasn't too thrilled with it. I tried to rip it apart, pushed it through the entire living room, stuffed some bones in it and even considered to pee on it. Honestly, I almost liked it as much as I like my stupid coat.

Me ON my burrow bed - not so sure about it yet.
But then it got really cold out there and even though the heat in the house is on, I got some chills. I tried to convince mom and dad not to go to work, but instead to sit next to me and be my heating pad. But they said that they had to go out and make bones. So all of a sudden, the stupid burrow bed did not look that stupid anymore. It is actually quite comfy and cozy and one can completely disappear in it. I am almost sure that I can even eat in here.

Me IN my burrow bed - very sure about it now.
So glad I did not pee on it!
Stay warm all you dogs and humans!

Please, Christmas, don't be late!

Dear Santa, I was really, really good this year. You can see in the back of the picture that I even made my bed.
So please, bring me a kitten, a bunny, a squirrel, three big bones, some French fries and a bowl of pasta.
Thank you. See you next week. I promise, I won't bark at you, when I see you.
Love, Ellie

Baby, it's cold outside!

No allowed outside today.
So apparently, if one does not put on a sweater and refuses to wear a coat, one is only allowed to watch the squirrels and the birds from the inside and cannot play outside.
Cannot begin to tell you how BORED I am, but I'd rather sit in the warm house than have the other dogs laugh at me in my stupid jacket. I have gotten so good at playing paralyzed puppy, when they try to put the coat on me, that they have now given up.
So the weather outside is frightful and my coat is stupid and not delightful, and since there no way to play, in  I stay, in I stay, in I stay.

Me and Tricks and Treats

Me and my "costume". I don't tolerate a whole outfit.
Don't trust the picture! It is all show! Don't even think for a second that I really went trick-or-treating today or that I was allowed to eat any of the treats in the bucket. I was bribed, lured, they tricked me! First mom put the stupid neck tie on me and put me on the purple rug, then she put this deliciously smelling bucket full of wonderfulness next to me, gave me a treat and said "Come on, Ellie, who's a pretty girl, who's a pretty girl?!"
Pretty girl my tail!! Promise me food and I do anything, but put a pile of deliciousness right next to me and only give me one shabby treat? Excuse me - who is the star of this blog? Shouldn't the star be kept happy?
But no, apparently I have lost my girlish figure and have gotten a bit chunky. So only limited treats for me. I am telling you, diet sucks! And the Holiday Season is just about to begin. I hope by the time they put that turkey on the table I am allowed to indulge again.
Anyway, I might try to sneak out tonight and do some trick-or-treating myself. I mean, if I showed up at your house, wouldn't you give me a treat?
Happy Halloween!
Ellie
P.S.:  These are my friends Kiki and Khaki from Florida who sent me their Halloween pictures. Why don't you send me yours?
Arrgghhh!!!!
